Mini glass cubes with brightly coloured pebbles and cymbidium orchids, gerberas and 'Cherry Brandy' roses looked really effective on the tables.

Moreton Masked Ball

I was at Moreton House last week setting up for a charity masked ball in aid of Julia's House Hospice, Weldmar Hospice and ReRun. We used gorgeous red amaryllis in tall elegant vases, accessorised with feathers and masks to create a really theatrical effect - they looked fantastic and really set the scene for the evening.

Spring is in the air!

With Valentine's Day over and Mother's Day just around the corner, spring is finally in the air! What better way to celebrate my favourite time of year than to launch my brand new website www.tlily.co.uk. It looks great, and will be updated regularly with new pictures of forthcoming work.

Some of my favourite flowers are those emerging in spring time, in particular tulips, narcissi and ranunculus, all perfect for Mother's Day posies and Easter decorations! Hyacinths are a big spring trend this year, in gorgeous pastel shades and many with a lovely scent.

This time of year also gets me thinking about planning trips... Last March I went to the bulbfields in Holland where I visited Keukenhof gardens, full of amazing design ideas and every variety of tulip imaginable! We also visited Alsmeer, home of the largest flower auctions in the world, where millions of flowers are bought and sold and distributed around the world every day. Maybe I'll go again this year, it becomes addictive!

Tulips, spring blossom and narcissi designs at Keukenhof.

Coming up... snowdrops, Mother's Day, spring blossom, Easter, Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows...
